Welcome to Haywire! Here's what to expect when you sign up and get connected.
How to sign up
If you're moving into a property that already has Haywire, or you want to check whether Haywire is available at your address, visit gohaywire.com/sign-up. The form will show you right away whether your location is available. Signing up takes just a few minutes.
What happens after you sign up
Once your account is activated, you'll receive a text with your Wi-Fi network name and password. This same information is also available anytime in the customer portal. There's no installation appointment needed — your equipment is already installed in your unit.
Your Wi-Fi networks
Haywire creates two wireless networks (SSIDs) in your unit: one named after your unit number (for example, "Haywire 1234"), and a second one with "_2.4" at the end (for example, "Haywire 1234_2.4"). Both connect you to the internet — the difference is which Wi-Fi frequencies they use.
Your main network ("Haywire 1234") includes both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and your device will automatically pick whichever works best. Most of the time, this is the one you should use. The "_2.4" network exists for older devices or smart-home gadgets that only support 2.4GHz and can't connect to the main network.
Changing your network name or password
Haywire's access points are centrally managed, so there isn't a customer login for changing your Wi-Fi name or password yourself. If you'd like it changed, just reach out to us with the new name and password you'd like (passwords must be at least 8 characters) and we'll make the update.
