If your internet has stopped working entirely — not just running slow, but no connection at all — the good news is this is usually fixed with a quick equipment restart, and most customers are back online within a few minutes.
Step 1: Check your access point
Find your Haywire access point — the white box mounted on your wall — and look at the light on the front.
- Solid white or blue: The equipment has power and is operating normally.
- No light at all: The equipment may have lost power.
- Solid red: The equipment is on but reporting an error.
- Flashing or blinking: The equipment is currently restarting.
Step 2: If there's no light
- Check your circuit breaker panel for any tripped breakers — a switch sitting in the middle position, not fully on or off — and flip it back if you find one.
- Make sure nothing is plugged into the ports on the underside of the access point. Removing any cables from those ports can help it restart properly.
- Unplug the access point's power cable from the wall outlet, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
Give it 2-3 minutes to fully restart, then check if the light has returned.
Step 3: If there is a light, but still no connection
- Unplug the power cable from the back of the access point.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in and give it 2-3 minutes to fully restart.
Once the light is back on, try connecting a device again.
Step 4: Still down? Check for a network enclosure
Some locations also have additional networking equipment housed in a separate network enclosure — usually found in a closet, utility area, or another central spot in the unit.
- Locate your network enclosure, if your unit has one.
- Unplug the power to the enclosure, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Give it a few minutes to fully restart, then test your connection again.
Not every property has a separate enclosure — if you can't find one, your access point is likely the only equipment in your unit.
Still not working?
Some properties have their own specific restart guide with extra steps for their setup — check the "Learn About Your Property" section to see if yours does. Otherwise, our general restart guide covers the full steps for any property.
If you've tried the steps above and you're still not connecting, please submit a request and our team will take a closer look.
